In April 2019, I received my BSE in Mechanical Engineering. During my time at University of Michigan, I have acquired knowledge on designing, building, and testing of mechanical systems with the use of various automated systems, including AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
Prior to graduating from University of Michigan, I volunteered in Zhongshan, China for six months. In my time abroad, I have gained valuable insights into:
-
Being a Leader: Led weekly meetings with fellow teachers to provide insights on implementing engaging lectures to boost overall student motivation and participation. Took the initiative to research best practices when creating lesson plans. Additionally, I evaluated the effectiveness of my lesson plans to ensure that students with different learning styles and needs were treated equitably.
-
Managing Time Effectively: Designed and submitted weekly lesson plans and lectures for over 100 students. Prepared and graded monthly tests to evaluate individual student progress. Meticulously planned out lessons to maximize learning and ensure students had ample time to finish classwork in the allotted hour.
- Collaborating with Colleagues: Facilitated biweekly cooperation meetings with a team of four teachers to coordinate lesson plans and build teacher capacity. Organized team building activities outside the classroom with fellow teachers as well as the administrator and coordinator of the program to build team morale.
